The French Holiday Program is designed for children aged 5–12 who already understand French, even if speaking it does not yet come easily.
Through theatre, movement, stories, games and creative work, French becomes the language they use to play, imagine, collaborate and express themselves.

Who it’s for
French doesn’t need to be effortless.
But it does need to be familiar.
The French Holiday Program is for children who can understand everyday French and follow simple instructions, stories, games and group conversations.
Some speak French fluently. Others understand much more than they speak, respond in English sometimes, or need a little time before finding their voice.
The program is not designed for complete beginners in French.

How it works
THE CIRCLE
The day begins together. Voice, breath, rhythm, listening, projection, tongue-twisters and games help children arrive, connect and find confidence in the group.
THE WALKING
Movement opens another door into language. Children explore rhythm, space, shapes, energy and imagination through the body.
STORY & CREATION
Stories, improvisation, characters, small-group work and creative projects give French something to do. The language becomes part of making, playing and inventing together.
The three are not separate activities. They feed into one another throughout the day.
A typical day
Morning
The day starts together with voice, movement and group games. Children settle into the space, reconnect with French and get ready to work as an ensemble.
During the day
Stories, improvisation, creative challenges, making, movement and small-group work unfold around the theme of the week.
Breaks matter too
Children have time to eat, play outside when possible, reset and simply be together.
Towards the end of the day
Ideas are gathered, scenes evolve, objects are finished and stories begin to take shape.
The rhythm is structured, but never rigid.
From Monday to Friday
The week begins with a theme, a few stories, some questions and plenty of room to explore.
As the days unfold, children invent characters, build scenes, make objects, test ideas and begin to shape something together.
By Friday, the group has created a small world of its own.
And then, they share it.
At the end of the week, families are invited to a short presentation.
It is not about producing a polished show. It is a moment for the children to share what they have explored, created and discovered in French throughout the week.
A week of play becomes something they are proud to share.
Behind the program
French Holiday Program is created and led by Stella Sulak, theatre director and French-language educator with more than 25 years of experience working across theatre, language and creative learning.
The program grew from one simple idea: children speak more freely when French is connected to play, imagination, movement and something they genuinely want to do.
Each holiday program is built around a new theme, with theatre, stories, creative work and group experiences designed as one coherent week.
