WAFF Collective is a not-for-profit cultural organisation based in Perth, Western Australia.

We respect the privacy of the people who take part in our programs, attend our events, contact us or visit our website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information.

We aim to handle personal information responsibly and transparently, in accordance with good privacy practice and, where applicable, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

This may include your name, email address, telephone number and information you provide through contact forms, registrations, expressions of interest or newsletter subscriptions.

For children’s programs, we may also collect information necessary to manage participation safely and appropriately, such as a child’s name, age, French-language background, parent or guardian contact details, emergency contact details, allergies, medical or support information where relevant, and photo or media permissions.

For Perth French Theatre activities, we may collect information such as French-language level, theatre experience and information provided when expressing interest in training, readings or other activities.

We may also receive information connected with bookings, payments, attendance at events or correspondence with us.

Children and young people

We take particular care with information relating to children.

Information about children participating in French Holiday Program or other WAFF Collective activities is generally provided by a parent or guardian and is collected only where it is useful for registration, communication, participation, safety or the delivery of the program.

We do not publicly identify children by name in photographs or videos used to communicate about our work.

Parents or guardians may contact us at any time if they have questions about information held about their child or wish to update their permissions.

How we collect information

We usually collect information directly from you when you:

register for a program or event; complete a form on our website; subscribe to our newsletter; contact us by email or through the website; express interest in one of our activities; make a payment or booking; or provide information in connection with your own or your child’s participation.

Our website may also collect limited technical information about how visitors use the site, such as browser or device information, IP address and pages visited.

How we use personal information

We use personal information only for purposes connected with our activities.

This includes responding to enquiries, managing registrations and participation, communicating practical information, providing programs and events, processing bookings and payments, maintaining appropriate safety records, managing media permissions, improving our programs and website, and sending newsletters or updates where someone has chosen to receive them.

We do not sell personal information.

Photos and video

Photography and video form part of how we document and share WAFF Collective’s work.

For children participating in our programs, public use of photographs or video is subject to the permission provided by their parent or guardian. Children are not tagged or publicly identified by name.

Separate arrangements may apply to private photo collections made available to enrolled families.

Permissions can be discussed or changed by contacting us.

Newsletter and communications

If you subscribe to A letter, now and then or another WAFF Collective mailing list, we use your email address to send you news, events and occasional updates.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

Receiving a newsletter is optional and is not a condition of participating in our programs or events.

Website, cookies and analytics

Our website is hosted by Squarespace.

Squarespace and services connected to the website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand website traffic and help us improve the visitor experience.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through the cookie preferences offered on the website.

Service providers and overseas processing

We use trusted third-party services to help operate WAFF Collective, including services for website hosting, forms, email communications, payments and digital storage.

These providers process information only as part of providing those services and have their own privacy and security practices.

Some providers may store or process information outside Australia. In particular, Squarespace may transfer information to the United States and other countries in which it or its service providers operate.

How we store and protect information
