PFT TRAINING

The work starts

before the stage.

A theatre training programme for French speakers and learners, built around regular practice across the year.

Perth French Theatre participants rehearsing movement together in a large studio.

One training journey, across three terms.

Theatre takes time. Voice, body, presence, listening and ensemble work develop through regular practice, and each term builds on the one before.

We encourage participants to stay for the full programme, but you are not locked in. Fees are paid term by term, and you can step away between terms if circumstances change.

And joining the training does not mean committing to a production.

Two Perth French Theatre participants working on focus and presence during a rehearsal exercise.

Voice. Body. Presence.

Training begins with the performer, not the role.

We work through breath, voice, movement, improvisation, listening and ensemble practice. The aim is not to accumulate techniques, but to become more available: to the space, to the other actor, to the text and to what is happening in the moment.

There is room to experiment, to take risks and to discover what your body and voice can do.

French is part of the practice. Fluent speakers and learners work together, and the language becomes something to inhabit, play with and make alive.

Different reasons. One room.

PFT Training is for adults who want to explore theatre in French, whether French is their first language or one they are still learning.

Some come to deepen their acting practice. Some want to feel more confident speaking French. Others are simply curious to see what theatre might open up.

You do not need to be preparing for the stage. What matters is the willingness to work, listen, experiment and be part of an ensemble.
